Pawsitive Love: Celebrating Valentine's Day with Your Furry Friend

Valentine’s Day is a time to show love and appreciation for the special people in our lives; that includes our pets! Here are some fun and creative ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your best fur pal.

DIY Treats

There are so many easy and delicious recipes for making healthy dog treats at home. We narrowed it down for you to help make your pet’s Valentine’s Day a total breeze.

Try this easy Frozen Yogurt and Fruit Treats recipe using this Heart Shaped Mold. Once they’re frozen, simply pop them out of the mold for your pup to eat. You can also try making these Peanut Butter Grain-Free Treats with these Dog Treat Cookie Cutters. Both recipes are healthy and the pups love them!

If making treats isn’t your thing, you can buy heart shaped treats like these from Zuke’s!

Pet-Friendly Date Ideas

There’s nothing more romantic than a long walk on the beach with your one true love. I prefer the Minnesota version of walking around one of our beautiful lakes with my lovely pup! Some of our favorite spots include Lake Como and Como Park, Lake Phalen, Crosby Farm, Mounds Park, or along the Mississippi River near downtown St. Paul!

Are you single and ready to mingle this Valentine’s Day? Check out this Valentine’s Day event hosted by our friends at Ruff Start Rescue for single dog lovers and owners! If your dog approves of your partner, you know it’s a perfect match.

Valentine's Day Photo Shoots

Are you obsessed with your pet and want to show them off on your social media? Try this super easy photoshoot setup. Find a pink, red, or white background. That could be a sheet, towel, or large piece of paper. Then choose one of these adorable Valentine’s Day costumes or make your own. Use treats or squeaky toys to keep their attention on you and snap a pic!

However you end up celebrating Valentine’s Day, you can rest assured that your pet loves you no matter what. Some like to show their love in their own special ways. You know your pet best, and we hope our ideas inspired you. Share your Valentine's Day celebrations with us on Instagram! You can find us @twincitiespets and be sure to give us a follow!
